REBUILD THE WORLD | LEGO ︎︎︎ Style Frames

Role: Concept Development, Design, Composition, Storyboard
Execution: After Effects, Cinema 4D, Photoshop

Concept:

A single spark of creativity, can help change the world through our imagination. Why live in an ordinary world when you can recreate an imaginative world with the help of your creativity. Referencing the butterfly effect, that small things matter and one small gesture (creative energy) can make an impact in the world.

Framing Device:

The low poly butterfly turns into an organic shape butterfly showing that we can get out of our comfort zone. The light source is symbolic of the single spark of creative energy that guides us to be more imaginative. As we follow the bright light we are lead to the creative world built through our creativity. Followed by the low poly butterfly turning into an organic shape butterfly showing that we are able to get out of our comfort zone. Later revealing the “Rebuild The World” - Lego logo.

Storyboard:

Mood Reference:

Inspired by Brutalism Architecture, the man-made environment gives a sense of confinement. It is dull, wearisome, and muted, showcasing an unimaginative environment.

Lighting Reference:

As the light shines more and spreads out, it shows the transition of the creative imagination to reality.

Reference:

From playing around with scale, giving a hierarchy to the composition, to texturizing the plants, giving a more imaginative look, these references were used to give the audience unexpected results in every scene. The audience is never expecting a dull moment.

Process:

Modeling and compositing was done on Cinema 4D. It was then taken into After Effects for color correction and Photoshop for adjustments to details.
